Jersey Girl | pet photography | boulder colorado

Growing up, my family only ever owned cats and so I didn’t think I was a dog lover until my husband and I got our first dog over 20 years ago. Within a couple hours of bringing him home, I couldn’t imagine not having a dog around. :)

It is so deeply satisfying to me to photograph dogs and to spend time with the lovable fur-babies and their owners. This dog was no exception! Her owner, Lori, won the photo session that I donated to the Humane Society of Boulder Valley for their silent auction extravaganza last April.

She contacted me and we met up to talk about her pooch and what would make sense for the two of them. At the end of July, we arrived at a favorite hiking trail and had a fun morning walking, talking and taking photos of this very cooperative dog!

Thanks, Lori, for entrusting me to capture Jersey Girl’s personality for you!

If you have a very special pup (or two) in your life, I’d love to talk to you about capturing their personality and giving you something to remember them by for years to come. Please contact me to chat!

I photographed Emma’s oldest sister 5 years ago so when I met Emma I was amazed at how different from her sister she is! They are both alike in how sweet they are to hang out with though. :)

We had a great time at the lovely grounds of the Greenbriar Inn for Emma’s session. Emma told me that her friends would probably describe her as opinionated but also considerate and kind. I would say she’s smart and fashionable too! Emma is the student body president at her school and plans to attend the University of Kansas this fall. Best of luck!

For Anna’s senior portraits, we had some pretty crappy luck with the weather. The first date had to be postponed entirely and the second date we got a half hour into before calling it because of the wind. Fortunately the third time was the charm has we had beautiful weather with some magical evening light at Wonderland Lake. Phew!

Anna is an outgoing, kind, and adventurous fashionista who is also the third daughter in this family that I’ve had the privilege to photograph! She was so sweet and easy-going and I really enjoyed hanging out with her. She is super excited for her soccer season at Niwot but is unsure still of what she plans to do after graduation. I’m sure whatever she decides, she’ll excel. Good luck, Anna!

sam | silver creek high school | senior portraits

Sam is a shy and quiet guy who also happens to be sarcastic and adventurous at the same time! For his senior portrait, we did a mini-session that included his younger brother and sister. They all seemed to be glad to be out at Golden Ponds with me that morning I think in part because they got to be late for school. :) We had a good time scoping out the area and enjoying the beautiful fall day.

Sam has big plans following high school to study journalism and political science. Enjoy your last year hanging with your childhood friends and best of luck in your future endeavors!
