To kick off the Saturday reception for Kiran + Raza’s multi-day wedding celebration, I met Kiran in the lobby of the Hyatt Regency Denver Tech Center to capture some photos of Kiran alone and she nearly knocked me over with how stunning she looked!
Then Raza joined us and we took a few photos inside before wandering outside.
In most western wedding celebrations, photos of the bride and groom kissing are very common but kissing in public is generally forbidden in the pakistani culture. Not a problem! I think there are so many other ways to capture the love that the newlyweds have for each other. Just a look, a smile, or touch of the hand is all it takes…
I absolutely ADORE this photo!
What a stunning couple and so easy to work with!
I could’ve spent all evening just photographing these two but the rest of their family was anxious to see them! So we headed up to their suite to capture a few photos of just Raza while we waited for their guests to arrive down in the ballroom.
Raza was first to make his entrance into the ballroom where Kiran’s brothers and father waited to greet him. Then Kiran made her entrance accompanied by her sisters-in-law.
Reacting to all of the toasts from friends and family…
The couple were treated to a special dance from some of their friends…
Apparently, one pakistani tradition is for Kiran’s family to “steal” one of Raza’s shoes and then he has to bargain for its return. Oh, to understand the language! They were laughing and “arguing” with so much passion!
Raza confers with his bride…
Finally the ransom was ready to be paid…
The festivities became suddenly quite serious and emotional at the end of the evening when Kiran + Raza were escorted out of the ballroom by all of their families and the final farewell was held by the elevators.
If you missed it, part I of Kiran + Raza’s wedding celebration is here.
To Kiran and Raza, it was an absolute honor to be a part of your wedding celebration. Thank you for choosing me to capture such a special event. Sending you all my love and best wishes!

One thing I would say regarding Indian Wedding Ceremonies. They are colorful and they have a very long ceremony. Unique indeed.
